It would seem that with 15 kids, one would run out of money eventually, and that's what this wreaks of. It's rushed, lazy writing, and it's NOT funny. It is, however, a little nostalgic, has its moments, and Wesley Snipes is fantastic in it. Eddie's eldest daughter also shines, and his American son does fine, although he could have used more character development. Eddie does a good enough job to pass and Leslie Jones is just plain annoying. I really don't see what the deal is with her. She just plays the same loudmouth as always. Old. And the whole thing is, like I said, rushed, and just unnecessary, I gather. And all the celebrity musicians and songs that it relies heavily on, couldn't save it. Only the original African drums and dance sequences were worthy. And don't get me wrong, I'm not a negative person, and I LOVE everything Eddie Murphy (ever since seeing Delirious at 10 yo), but this is just lazy, hurried writing, that only would have made sense if it was 3+ hours long to accommodate all the relationship and character building it skimmed over.

You think after a couple of movies of this, the action, the fighting, the gore and the comedy would have become a tad stale. But not even close. Everything felt fresh and exciting. And as far as the comedy? Outmatched. The jokes were zingin' left and right nonstop. I've watched enough comedy in my life, so I've naturally built up quite a tolerance to my addiction. But there were many times where I had to just pause, drop my head down & shake it, say 'wtf?' and then hit the -10 second 'back button'. Such deep, dark, layered, & smart comedy that it borders on sheer brilliance. A very solid, entertaining flick. If you dont mind the gore (it's fake, remembah?) and have seen enough of the movies that are referenced in the jokes, I highly recommend.

Love him or hate him, Mr. Gervais crafts up a touching and believable series on the subject of loss, and how the strength of others help us get through it, and as so we pay it forward. I think Ricky is absolutely hilarious, so it took a few episodes to adjust. However, his comedy is definitely still present, and seeing his range is pretty cool. He pulls it off. The message here is be kind to each other, because everyone's going through something tough from time to time, so let's make the best of what we have: Alot of each other and a little bit of time.

Accurate, if not painfully and awkwardly so sometimes. It's comforting to know that at least im not the only one who went through a lot of those same situations and the feelings that resulted from them. So hats off to the writer, director and stellar cast that each did their own to pull it off. Never overdoing it, the result is very believable story with flawed, but likeable characters. We relate to these people because we are, or at least were at one point in our lives, just like them.
