My parents took me to this movie when I was 12 years old (couldn't get a babysitter?). It went right over my head. But I loved the music and I was already old enough to appreciate the craftsmanship on display. I would see it again on TV every 5-10 years or so, and would understand more and more of it. Once I reached middle age, I had a pretty good grasp of how the world works and then the movie absolutely blew me away. So clever. So well done.
