I have a very brief, but interesting history with this band. In the summer of 1998, I was the drum technician who worked for a band called Days of the New. We were the opening band for the summer tour. I got to see Metallica from the stage or wherever I wanted to be 40. Something times. Highly consistent, highly professional every single night. Night. Was the Jason era, he was a major stoner, and I had the pleasure of doing blow with Lars and Kirk. Anyway, having not bought a Metallica album in many, many years, I have been listening to this because it was in my son's car, and I started listening to it. It's really, really good. Love the tones on this record, and the old school return to form. Lots of very clever. Hooks, minor notes, and the like. Good job guys.
