I was initially excited about a *Wizards of Waverly Place* reboot, but the show ultimately left much to be desired. While it retains some of the original world-building, many elements have been altered to the point of losing their charm. The magical world feels less like a cool, intriguing place and more like a string of gags. For example, making Halloween the equivalent of Christmas for wizards feels nonsensical and unnecessarily forced, bordering on cringe.
The acting, though occasionally decent, often comes across as overly exaggerated and over-the-top. I understand it's a sitcom, but there’s a way to deliver comedy without resorting to cheesy, try-hard antics. As I like to say, just because it's kids' media doesn't mean it shouldn't aim for quality.
