Aboslutely fantastic! It will move you and keep you thinking long enough after you finish the book. Just one word for it "FANTASTIC!"
It also takes you through the history of Afghanistan in last 3 decades starting from monarchy to the republic(overthrowing of the monarchy by a bloodless coup) and then the soviet invasion and how it lead to the rise of mujahideens and then the infighting of mujahideens and the rise of Taliban(the darkest chapter of Afghanistan) and then its fall(after 9/11). The plight of the common people (told through the story of 2 women) of the country through these political turmoil.
An eye-opener on what a religion is not supposed to do. You are left to wonder, after you read the book, that is this even for real? Can humans be so brainless, morononic, demonic and subservient to some medieval, iditiotic religious principles that is so biased against women/sisters/ mothers - who have given birth to men.
Recommended for everyone to read it and be aware of the harsh reality!
