What type of movie is this weird flick? A western science fiction musical? The most dreadful aspect was the music. I have never heard such a mismatch that made me so appreciate the mute button on my remote. Did the soundtrack directors put names of songs in a hat and then draw their choices? No cohesion and songs from every genre without any thought of purpose. And the nemesis's son singing off-key throughout the movie was atrocious. What was the reasoning for such an irritating, blackboard fingernail-scraping decision to do this? The acting was ok. Typical predictable Josh Brolin characterization of brooding bad boy. Will Patton had the best part and played it well, but Lewis Pullman had the personality of a rock, only to be saved by his comeliness. If you find yourself interested/curious about Outer Range, you may want to consider having it on in the background while vacuuming or running your garbage disposal.

If this movie is supposed to have a point, I missed it. Two separate modalities. Was this about a real estate tycoon going under, or his assistant's husband's racial discrimination by the judicial system, until his attorney's enlightened speech convinced the racist judge how unfairly the client was treated? Good acting, but found being bored by the main character's downfall, even though Jeff Daniels is usually terrific.

With all of the 5 star reviews, I wondered if I was watching the same show. Not a fan of Ron Perlman, but thought I'd watch anyway. Most of the characters were cartoonish, and stereotypical of Hollywood. The (real-life gay man) pastor who plays straight (just can't believe his sex scenes), his female partner who's trashy and manipulative, the (horrible actor) mayor who is shukin' and jivin' all throughout the series, and of course, the unattractive rich guy who has a beautiful, understanding wife, but a pretty mistress on the side who fulfills his sexual needs, all mixed together making God the excuse for horrendous behavior. Delaney is fabulous and the only one I could stand to watch.

I made the mistake in episode one giving a thumbs up. Wrong! Two stars fo ok acting and lovely scenery. There are so, so many unnecessary scenes that I found myself fast-forwarding through many. The storyline divereted away from the trajedy of the missing child, then Nicole's friend in an unhappy marriage, and now another girl's pregnancy, and the main character's husband's confliction with his faith (even though his wife proclaimed they are not religious, so he's been hiding this). Then a gay affair begins for the pregnant girl (where are we going with this?). Also, bringing in maids from the Phillipines and their minimal storylines . . . is this to introduce another culture's subjugation to rich white people? And the music! Mainly, it sounded like commercials were on. Just don't understand the 5 star reviews. Maybe I've seen good, streaming movies that I'm getting jaded(?). This film is all over the place and has totally lost its entire point.

The first episode was interesting, and of course, made one wonder how she's going to get out of the mess she's in. By the third episode, I found it more interesting to clean my apartment, rather than get dragged through all of the chaos of a fickle, silly woman/child traveling back and forth in her mind through her disastrous one-night stand, and caring so much about a guy she really didn't even know. These scenes became really old and boring ... non-sensical. I can't imagine any flight attendant being such an airhead. I felt no compassion for her whatsoever, and don't care if the writers expected this from viewers. If this series were pared down and tightened up to 3 or 4 episodes, there may have been some hope for it to be somewhat interesting.
