haven’t seen it yet but i feel like i need to rate it to help balance out the 1 stars. the LGBTQIA+ representation was something quick and innocent. it wasn’t a make out, or suggestive, or inappropriate in the slightest. so the fact that ignorant parents are badly reviewing and boycotting this movie is horrible. yes, i agree that disney as a corporation isn’t a big supporter of the LGBTQIA+ and only does these things for internet clout and to get people talking about the movie. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean it’s not important. it’s important for children to see different types of love. many shows are good examples of this, She-ra, kippo, steven universe, and so many others. children don’t need to form their own opinions, they need to be taught that love comes in all forms and to always respect the way people love. if homophobic parents start cancelling their subscription, great! do whatever you want with your money, but your children are gonna either grow up to be just like you (homophobic, intolerant, disrespectful) or they will grow up to hate you. go ahead and take that gamble.
