Amazing short stories among which is "The Paper Menagerie." It's filled with love and compassion bathed in regret. The Chinese title is much more descriptive: 手ä¸çº¸ï¼Œå¿ƒä¸çˆ±ï¼šPaper in hand, Love in heart.
Here we find a Chinese mom trying to adapt to her life in America as her young son grows away from her. She makes him paper animals in the style of origami. She writes love notes written in Chinese in each of her creations. Language being a barrier between them she hopes to turn into a bridge.
How beautifully this story "unfolds" ... is left for the reader to discover.
