I have watched this show since I was a child. It has for years been one of my favorite things about Sunday mornings. I have, however, been increasingly disappointed with more of the "left-leaning" reporting.
I just watched the story about Evangelical Christians and Trump. It was very disappointing and misleading. Our family had just the opposite experience with our church. We left our church years ago because the people who were leading were increasingly introducing more "liberal" ideology, which was in direct conflict with our faith and Biblical teachings. I personally was sent private messages from church members that were neither Christian nor kind, because they felt my political views didn't align with theirs. I never brought politics into my faith, which was apparently the reason these people felt they needed to change my way of thinking. This only made my faith stronger, but I realized my church no longer shared my Christian values. Our former church has lost half it's members because the "leaders" saw fit to bring liberal politics through the doors to appease a few. The church where we loved to worship had become a place for nasty comments and verbal attacks of it's own members due to their perceived political beliefs.
Your story only showed one small side of this issue. To fully report, you really should show both sides of "politics in church".
