Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins shows the unfolding of a rebellion. Katniss’s regular encounters with thrill and action made readers spellbound. The context of children murdering each other outlines the sick and terrifying reality the characters of the story experience. In an attempt to change this reality, Katniss becomes the face of a rebellion. Despite, all things going her way, she becomes distant from her lover--Peeta. The young adult novel satisfies its audience because it delivers a contemporary writing style. That modern use of language supports the future-like setting of The Mockingjay. With the first two books of The Hunger Games setting standards, the third book isn’t an exception.
