Definitely indicative of a movie that spent more on marketing than production. They had to make money on the first week of release before people realized just how bad it was!
Basically, it was a really poor example of the type of humor that was maybe acceptable 30/40 years ago. The jokes show a stunning low level of intellect or understanding of humor and its strangely dated, in both content and tech, I say strangely because it was heralded as some kind of modern concept. The movie isn't funny, it wouldn't even be funny in the 1980s when these types of underhanded swipes at masculinity were definitely tolerated if not celebrated. The understanding that equality has brought us to a more even-handed temperament is not evident here and it's a huge shame. My 14-year-old daughter fell asleep after 5 minutes my 12-year-old son watched it to the end with a look of bewilderment on his face. I felt disappointed and mild disgust all the way through, as I do with anything which wastes my valuable money and time.
