EASILY my top game of the year. Every ounce of this is caked in passion, love, and art. From the scenery, to the dialogue, to the storytelling, right down to the smallest touches like UI design. I don't remember feeling this way about a game since Baldur's Gate 3 and I remember, after the high of BG3 settled, feeling disheartened that I'd never have an experience like that again. And while Expedition 33 isn't the same type of game as BG3, it still DECIMATES those feelings. This entire game is very clearly a project of love and dedication and it reflects in every ounce of its existence. I have not put the game down since buying it - it's SO. GOOD. Even after the tragedies backhand you and laugh in your face JUST as you're healing from the last, the game has a breathtaking way of making you feel just as resolute as the characters about their motto; "When one falls, we continue."
I genuinely can't express enough how enraptured I am with this game and just how easily the characters come together and form relationships. Every bit of dialogue feels natural and real and it helps immerse you in the story that explodes with powerful emotions. Not to mention, the soundtrack and scenery and art style of the game is GORGEOUS. Absolutely breathtaking. There were so many moments where I would simply stand still and indulge in either the scenery around me or the song playing at the current time. I've even added most of the songs to my playlist, haha!!
Seriously, 10/10 game. Will never, ever have an experience like this again so I'm glad I could be here for this one.
