I must start this review of Destroy Build Destroy with a story. Katastrépste, ChtÃste, Katastrépste is an ancient Greek story originally by Plato that serves as an allegory for the cyclical nature of humanity; one that focuses on destroying, building, and then destroying once again.
The story introduces the reader to Andréas W.K, a semi-wealthy Greek merchant in the city of Sparta, and recounts the final years of his life. Set during the Peloponnesian War, the story focuses heavily on Andréas' inner thoughts about how destructive mankind is, as prior to the Peloponnesian War, Sparta was rebuilding itself following the destruction they faced during the Persian War.
With this classic Greek allegory in mind, it is clear to anyone with historical and philosophical smarts (like myself) that Andrew W.K's Destroy Build Destroy is a masterful retelling of the the classic story with a contemporary twist. Ever since the debut of Destroy Build Destroy, I have felt a lust for life that I had severely lacked in the past. With this new found inspiration, I have become more proactive than I have ever been before! I have met so many wonderful people since Destroy Build Destroy's debut, and I now drive a 2006 Honda Pilot.
To summarise, Destroy Build Destroy is a masterful retelling of Plato's classic that will inject a newfound sense of inspiration into anyone who watches this show.
