A stunning and almost unbelievable film with daring and dangerous camera work, let alone the daring and dangerous mountain ascents by Lhakpa Sherpa in blizzards and whiteouts, walking over deep gorges on an aluminum ladder while wearing huge cleats. As though this weren't enough she gave birth to at last four children whose father once knocked her out he punched her so hard, putting her in the hospital for days. Forced into a shelter with her children for over a year she nevertheless continued to climb, taking her daughters with her for at least part of the trip up the mountain. After her tenth summit she received a sponsor who liberated her from a lifetime of washing dishes, scrubbing floors, and waiting on people in restaurants which she explains as the result of her illiteracy.
