Tried to put off watching this series tbh because I had this gut feeling that it's gonna be a hit-and-miss. Yet again, my gut-feel never fail me. I felt exhausted watching the episodes! It felt like every scene was just trying so hard to be 1) funny, 2) smart, 3) relatable, 4) un-cliché, 5) original and 6) righteous..it was the exact opposite of all the points I highlighted! The only redeeming factors - fashion & set design. Most of the time, I enjoy watching Lilly Collins' projects/acting but her character in this series is just so overrated! I was embarassed and furious to watch all those stereotypical quirks about French people and its culture..and I'm not even French! Everything was just so wrong and Emily's character played the victim without really trying to adapt or immersing herself into the culture first. Another white supremacy story downplayed by surreal workplace challenges.
