One of the best books I have ever read on the life of Jesus.
It speaks a truth which is utterly simple, but with none of the unthinking fundamentalist, cult elements.
To borrow a phrase from Marcus Borg, It is like "meeting Jesus all over again for the first time".
It is scholarly, yes, but intensely devotional. There is ever only one loyalty, and that not to dogma or humanly constructed explanations, but only to Jesus, as he was, as he is and and as he ever shall be.
