Karl Aston

A curious mix of art house and Hammer Horror. Starts high-brow and then works its way down. As a morality tale it is very obvious, though always interesting. Difficult to emphasise with any of the characters except for the one played by John Malkovich, who seems lost and disconnected. Jake Gyllenhaal is at the heart of the film, but doesn't seem entirely comfortable in the role he plays, starting just thew orange aide of over-doing it at times.
