The only reason I gave it two stars rather than one is because it dealt with WWII.
The two main actors.... Brutally poor. No concept of of the difference between being 'cool' and pretending to be 'cool'.
Jest kept reminding me of those annoying kids in Jr High that tried so hard... But just could never grab the concept so they tried harder.
Writing played a huge part with this failure. Creating these characters as over the top, stereotypes. Then the directing for allowing this to go through.
I don't want to blame the actors because 1st, they were allowed into the production and 2nd, nailing characters mostly come with age.
But I don't think Hanks or Spielberg we're nearby during the production... Maybe even during preproduction where these mistakes occur.
I made it through both episodes, but trying a second time, I couldn't take it anymore. And for me... That is extremely rare when it comes to anything warfare.
We recently had some good warfare films, but seeing more and more stuff like this makes me realize that we will loose the true concept of what warfare is really like.
I call this type of film making blind ignorance. But call Hank's & Spielberg's type of production pure laziness.
