This is an absolutely lovely movie, well-acted and well-written. One reviewer said it was a throwback to early rom-coms and failed on that level. He/she missed the whole point of the movie. This is a story about family, expectations, vulnerability and, most of all, all the good and ghastly forms parental love can take. The scenery is gorgeous, the chemistry among the actors is perfect, Julia Roberts makes as fantastic a middle-aged mother as she did a sassy young prostitute in Pretty Woman...and there are more than a few tear-inducing, very touching moments in the film. It's not a perfect movie (Paul that Pilot seems totally extraneous to needs) but it's good. This may not be a movie critics like, but if viewers go in with open minds (curbing their expectations, as the parental unit in the movie learns to do), they may find a delightful film that is much deeper than expected.
