This series lacks some fundamental elements that are needed for a watchable and ultimately a rewatchable show. There is so much doom and gloom prevailing that it appears as though no one is enjoying anything about anything. I'm not saying there should be misplaced or blind optimism, but at least some of the characters should exhibit some oppositional defiance combined with empathy and a desire to live in this world. Everyone is so opposed to everyone, everything everywhere is doomed, and they all might be happier if they were all dead. Please give us some indirect hope through the actions and words of the heroes. Perhaps viewers want and need an inkling of security and want to watch something they feel better about after viewing than like everything is crumbling around them. Like morality tales of old, lessons and attitudes can permeate the screen and perhaps we could share a little joy with a fantasy world that doesn't have to feel as dire as the real world.
