This book it very very depressing. I don't know how this is an unpopular opinion, but according to me the protagonist was genuinely a very kind and naive person. He couldn't be angry at people, couldn't cause them trouble, didn't want to be anyone's burden, didn't want to ruin others lives because of him. He was really an angel. Not once could I get angry with him. He had a demon since his childhood. That was the only problem. The innocent child was scared of the world around him and was just keeping himself safe. No one saw his true self, his demon within. That innocent child needed someone to understand him and help him through. He did not have any guidance. Just a child scared of his surroundings and tried his best till the end to never show it. It was the demon that caused him the misfortunes of his life. An innocent soul that needed someone to tenderly handle it. It was heartbreaking to his his fall just because no one saw the person within. The child didn't know how to survive in the world. The first chapter shows how his pure intentions were misinterpreted by the world. He was afraid that his father was angry because he didn't accept his idea for the gift, he was so afraid that he couldn't sleep at night n sneeked into his fathers study to right down the gift. All that was needed was for someone to hold him and tell him that its fine to be afraid but also show him that there isn't much to be afraid of. All he needed was one person.
