House Of David is for Jews and Christians as Game Of Thrones is for the secular world, the difference being this is based on history, not loosely inspired by events in history (Red Wedding for instance).
The acting is superb. The writing is top notch and the production is fantastic with great environments, editing and cinematography. The score is fantastic and David's singing is soulful and a highlight of the series.
Of course, we don't always know the in-between conversations and daily doings of those we read about in scripture, but many will be surprised how much of this story is in fact pulled from scripture and oral traditions.
For a Christian production, in its first season to be on par with a show like Game Of Thones (in my opinion, better than season 1 of the GOT prequel 'House Of The Dragon' that had a bigger production budget and bigger studios behind it) and to stand tall with the groundbreaking & established hit Christian show 'The Chosen', House Of David is on good footing.
While there are some things that could improve like CGI (like the lion in episode 1) and some of the pacing, these are relatively small issues. Again to reference Game Of Thrones, it too suffered its fair share of issues in it's first season had alot to improve upon but stood strong by a compelling story, great writing & well acted characters.
I hope the series continues to bring King David to life and lives up to the House Of David name because there is alot more to David's story than just his anointing, ascension and slaying of Goliath. I also hope they really emphasize the faith aspect since it is the most central aspect to the character of David.
Highly recommend to believers and non-believers alike. House Of David is just great television.
