I give this book a rating of 100000000/10!! Definitely a MUST READ for anyone that is looking for book recommendations! I also have Autism and learned more about myself throughout the book along with learning about the author as well! Even the psychology/ science behind it all is so spot on!! The challenges that he would face along the way such as socially with interpreting the world around him and even talking about a topic that’s separate from what one person is talking about is relatable. I wish that more people would understand that people with Autism learn differently along with processing things differently than neurotypicals. Especially with focused interests. Another good thing about this book is that he talks about how it’s helpful to focus on your gifts and with the realization of your strengths and special interests, it can help you be successful! The author is so good and talented! It amazes me how he’s so brave and willing to write so many stories on his life with Autism even after finding out years later and doing his own research. Lastly, it’s also fascinating with the difference in generations too and how he was treated being undiagnosed with Autism but didn’t get diagnosed until 1997 while in today’s generation, you get diagnosed early. Throughout this book, you will learn a lot of history about John and his journey with Autism along with tips on how to cope with it. Such a great book!! Well done!!💙💙
