Ok so yes Joss Whedon is a horrible person. This show, however, is the opposite.
I thoroughly enjoyed almost everything about The Nevers, from the Touched characters to the incredible costumes to the acting and scenery. I loved that they included people of all colors and creeds, making it much more like what London would've actually been like back in the day.
My favorites were, of course, Amalia and Molly, but I also loved Maladie. That actress had me in awe with her portrayal of a real life serial killer. I could've done without a few superfluous plot points, to be honest, but I can forgive that because they were easy to overlook.
I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the mid season ending. That abrupt shift in tone and location gave my partner and I whiplash. We were so confused for a good 30 minutes, which isn't the best thing for an already intricate plot. We can't wait to see how they bring it all together at the end.
