An amazing addition to the zombie/undead genre. Great acting, lots of tension, and the zombies are some of the most interesting that I've ever seen. 28 Days Later is the only movie that compares, in my opinion.

I happened to come across this movie on Netflix tonight and thought the premise sounded promising enough to press play. As a martial arts movie fan, I’ve watched some questionable movies just for the action scenes. This one did not disappoint in that respect. I actually found myself enjoying The Paper Tigers quite a bite, as cheesy as it is. The acting was not Oscar caliber, but I wasn’t expecting that. What I liked was the storyline of sticking with family and friends, the bit about getting older but still being relevant, and the humor. The action scenes were really good as well. This was a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a weekend.

Ok so I had high hopes for Loki, and so far the show has surpassed them. This first episode started out with a bang and was SO good and SO fun. My partner even enjoyed it, even though she’s not typically a super hero movie fan. I enjoyed every intricate detail, including how they incorporated the Marvel movie back story into the show. Tom Hiddleston never disappoints in this role, but the Time Keeper storyline and everything to do with that world has been done so well. We were delighted with everything from the acting to the way that world is such an amalgamation of the 50s and the far future. I have been a fan of superhero movies since the 70s when I first watched Christopher Reeve as Superman as a kid. I’ve found that quite a few superhero shows and movies have not lived up to that standard. Marvel definitely has managed to meet or even surpass my expectations with this show (and many of their other offerings). I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us with Loki and beyond.

Ok so yes Joss Whedon is a horrible person. This show, however, is the opposite. I thoroughly enjoyed almost everything about The Nevers, from the Touched characters to the incredible costumes to the acting and scenery. I loved that they included people of all colors and creeds, making it much more like what London would've actually been like back in the day. My favorites were, of course, Amalia and Molly, but I also loved Maladie. That actress had me in awe with her portrayal of a real life serial killer. I could've done without a few superfluous plot points, to be honest, but I can forgive that because they were easy to overlook. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the mid season ending. That abrupt shift in tone and location gave my partner and I whiplash. We were so confused for a good 30 minutes, which isn't the best thing for an already intricate plot. We can't wait to see how they bring it all together at the end.

This British show was recommended to me by Hulu and I’m really glad I came across it. It was so funny! I’m seeing a trend of European and Canadian comedies being better than the usual fare we get here in the US comedies. I loved that the star of the show wasn’t your typical model-like actress. She was so much more relatable and real. Very glad that we have so much choice in what to watch these days.
