I love this book! It is long and complex, but completely riveting. I read it when I was younger and reread it a couple of times too until I wore my paper copy out. I can't wait to get a new one for Christmas and read it again. I am 68.

A realistic depiction of a man totally unequipped to deal with his life. Even as I watched him make mistake after mistake, I hurt for him and sympathized. Nolte is a fine actor.

If you love words, you will like this movie. Penn and Gibson are fascinating to watch, of course. A piece of history intriguingly told.
