This movie is nothing short of disgusting. Sure, the over-reliance on gore is obnoxious, but it wouldn't be half as bad (for reference; I personally love the Final Destination franchise) if there wasn't children involved. Gore on children, are we serious???
Showing a little girls' dead body is truly disgusting, but showing a little boy mutilating himself? Having to watch a little boy gnaw on knife, and vividly show his mouth right afterwards isn't "shocking gore", it's just straight up disgusting. The abuse of Piper was just as horrific, there was no need to show a disabled girl getting punched brutally in the face, then being manipulated. There was no "psychological" horror either, we're just throwing buzzwords at this movie and hoping it sticks to hide the child gore.
What disturbs me more, is the 1 star reviews complaining about the plot line. Not the glaring problem of child mutilation. No. Because why would we worried about that? There's plenty of movies with child gore already, but they have a strict warning or at least terrible reviews pointing it out.
What's with the sudden glorification of watching little children brutally mutilate themselves, and how is in it the least bit entertaining?
You're truly horrifying if you find the gore aspect of this movie entertaining.
