Long, dark, brooding, and tedious. Flat, superficial, and utterly lacking complexity. Frequent bright blinding lights violate eyes adapted to the dark, and sooooo. much. gunfire. Boring, bland villains. Yes, even the Riddler. Overall, just zero fun, and even less intrigue. It felt....dutiful. Eesh. Also the Batman theme music is the first 5 notes of the Darth Vader theme. So the whole movie you're just completing that theme in your head every time it plays. And every other piece of music in the movie is an iteration of Ave Maria, for no reason that was ever explicitly or implicitly explained. Would have all been much more palatable, and more fun, were it an hour shorter. The base story is a cool noir crime movie. But jeeeez this one should have been the Director's Cut, not the theatrical release. Honestly I don't get the hype. I like films and I like superhero movies and and I like Batman. But this just didn't hit the mark. It was super satisfying to watch Batman finally fly though. Bout time.

Can't count how many times I rolled my eyes. I guess someone could consider it fun, but scary it ain't.
