I absolutely love this film. It has a very “real” and genuine quality that stays in your mind for days after you see it. The acting is superb and leaves you pondering life long after its viewing.

This movie is honestly my absolute favorite. I have loved it ever since I saw it as young kid. It’s magical, and heartbreaking. Sure it’s long but it needs to be for you to truly understand Puyi’s story. It’s not really a movie so much as a journey into another time, a place hard for us in the 21st century to understand existed and actually not all that long ago. Epic and beautiful are the best words I can use to describe it.
