Dear Amanpour & Co.
Love your show (big fan)
In watching your recent show where former Juan Manual Santos was interviewed and ask about Latin American policies and the current political turmoil in Latin America. Really, his presidency should have been investigated further before considering Mr. Santos as the ideal candidate to contribute to this serious discussion on the matter of turmoil and unrest in Latin America . He has no credibility, and his replies to your questions said nothing other then serve as a reminder of his incompetence. He is cut from the same cloth other leaders in Latin America are made from; " Wealth and Power" for them and only them.
Their is no equality in Latin America; democracy is an illusion that carries on from generation to generation. I am 53 years old and I was blessed to be brought to the United Sates at the age of 6; The united States afforded me and my family what sadly my country of birth did not. My three siblings and I are extremely successful as a result of the opportunities available and afforded to us by the United States. These opportunities are not available to people in Colombia and many countries in Latin America. Hence the reason people struggle to come to the US. Why? because of the 1 or 2 percent, Mr. Santos described which he proudly admitted to be a member, and who always are the empowered ones. The ones that keep and share the power from generation to generation. It is they who grow from generation to generation, and overtake industries, business sectors etc. He was right on one thing he said; when he said that other nations in Latin America see people protest in other countries outside Latin America, so they feel they can do the same, and why not. Thank God for social media which allow people to share information and voice out their discontent. People as a result see how bad off they are compared to other nations and realize the injustice, so good for them that they raise up and protest. Mr. Santos is a substandard politician. who took advantage of a nation, and its citizens like many before him. I invite you to step back in time as I do every time I travel to Colombia; go experience first hand the inequality that exist in countries like Colombia. Shame on these leaders and their associates who deny the youth of these countries a future and the potential to be all they can be. The potential my family achieved in the USA.
In conclusion, Mr. Santos was not the ideal person to ask to comment on matters where is has been a contributor to the problem under discussion etc.
My apologies if I said or come across as disrespectful, it is not my intent.
Thank you for your time.
