I've given this film 4 stars because it is not the kind of film I would watch again. Not to say that it was not a good film. It really is. I had tears in my eyes at certain points.
Aneet clearly is a good actor. The kind of genuine actors that we need more of. Watching this film, she reveals just how talentless Nepo actors really are, like Alia, Tiger and Jahnvi to name a few.
It goes to show that you don't need to be dancing around in revealing outfits to an item number to be a huge hit and considered a good actor.
Take note Bollywood.
I won't comment on Ahaan as he is a product of Nepotism unfortunately. But he delivered well.
The storyline was good, emotional. Interesting that they highlighted the uncurable illness of Alzeihmer's, particularly in a young person. The emotional support given by the character Krish was beautifully done.
The characters connection was very good. Real.
The backdrop was visually pleasing. I like how they kept most of the locations in India itself as opposed to abroad, which too many bollywood films seem to do. Its refreshing to see a bollywood film actually filmed in India! The locations were beautiful.
I also liked how Vani's diary was written in Hindi, and not in English. I thought that this was a nice touch. Many bollywood films try too hard to cater to western audiences or adopt a western approach, but not this film and I think that is one of the reasons it did so well. The only exception of course was Krish's hook up in the toilet with a White female character. Obviously keeping to negative stereotypes that White girls are loose. Such a shame.
I hope to see more of Aneet and other new upcoming promising actors like her, if bollywood can give outsiders more of a chance.
