Triple Threat promised a "martial arts Expendables" and it did not deliver us Expendables, it gave us something more! While the plot was not very complex (it didn't need to be) it set up what I wants to see and that was the fights.
The fights in Triple Threat did not disappoint. We got to see fresh match ups and some stylistic differences when they fought. These are not your generic new school generic choreography but we get to see differences between Michael Jai White style and Iko Uwais style, for instance.
Director Jesse V Johnspn does a great job of balancing the scenes and personalities and let everyone shine in and have their moment.
Triple Threat is a must see if you like fight scenes and martial arts battles done by performers who actually know martial arts.
