I am not a Sandman comic reader. If you are also like me, hear me out~
I never had the opportunity to pick up any of Neil Gaiman's issues from the shelf. Other than the perpetually beautiful cover, i have heard awfully lot about how popular it is, and all the praise.
So when i read Netflix bringing it to series with THE author himself involved, i am thrilled & curious to explore.
Jump right to it with zero knowledge & completed it in a weekend. Engaging ep 1, following with slower pace & pick up the plot from ep 6 to 10.
I have to say, it is an eye opener & an adventure, i never know or guess what is coming next. Keeps me wanting more. Just as i thought it is gonna be a draggy plot like many series, it twist to a new story path very swiftly. The inter-connecting webs of plot nicely tied up to a satisfying conclusion. It is well thought screenplay, a story told with the end in mind.
Plenty of mythical dialog, convincing characters that serves the morphing story well. Even a non reader like me could well understand & enjoy the series. Good casting.
Dont expect big action piece, it is the atmosphere, CG is to serve the story that matters build up a good show.
And it does just that. Good times of a weekend.
Bravo, ๅฅฝๅข. Enjoy it.
