Im not Snyder fan. I was an open critic of his portrayal of Superman, but this movie is Polar opposite. It's goofy and quirky and not well written. I wanted to like this movie I really did, but having the plot hang on the silly fact that Jimmy Olsen is oddly a sex symbol is just dumb. Its also a "james gunn" movie, with quirky oddball characters who have funny self depreciating one liners and there even a fight set to a quirky 80s song (hello Guardians of the galaxy) Superman is a likable chap, but he's kind of a simple-minded, poor fellow who needs to play videos of his parents telling him how special he is when he has a booboo. Utraman's ability to beat Superman using lex and his knowledge is also just dumb. It's just dumb. The cgi is at times rubbery limbed blade 2 esque. Overall its a mindless popcorn movie aimed at kids but it just doesn't give me that uplifting feeling of good that reeves superman did effortlessly, still it spells a brighter future for supes and his more interesting friends than ol snyder and his bleak and tortured bunch of beautiful heroes.
