I don't usually write reviews, but felt compelled to do so in this instance due to a concern that the reported controversy and more recent sadness that is associated with this KDrama might stop some from missing out on seeing how great it really is. So please don't let any of that hold you back from watching this skilfully written and acted drama and celebrating what is sadly the final work of one of the supporting cast members!
"Snowdrop" is guaranteed to leave you completely hooked in and ready to binge watch multiple episodes because you have to see what is happening next in the multiple plots. The only negative for me was that it ended up being 16 instead of 20 episodes!
Overall, "Snowdrop" is certainly now one of my absolute favourite KDramas. Jung Hae-in is one of my favourite Korean Actors - I particularly love how he uses his facial expressions enhance his performances. His role in Snowdrop has allowed him to show so many sides to his skill set as an Actor and its obvious that he worked really hard in and for this role and he nailed it! Kim Ji-soo is also absolutely wonderful in her first role as a lead actress (first of many lead roles I hope) and the chemistry is fantastic between Hae-in and Ji-soo (on par with Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin in "Crash Landing on You" and Ji Chang-wook and Kim Ji-won in "Lovestruck in the City") - hopefully they are paired again in lead romantic roles in another project in the not too distant future.
The episodes are well scripted and all the other actors and actresses were so well caste and delivered great performances in their portrayals of their various character roles with every episode keeping your attention as you anticipate what is next. Action packed and certainly not light-hearted - I pretty much experienced every emotion as I laughed, got frustrated, got
anxious, smiled and absolutely sobbed my way through this drama and I'm sure you will too!!
Congratulations to the entire "Snowdrop" team and the Production Company for holding it together and for your professionalism (despite what occured unnecessarily on social media) to deliver another wonderful must watch Kdrama!
