The greatest showman is a fantastically imagined retelling of the story of PT Barnum. It's full of whimsy, theatrics, and solid musical performances. The story is of course, embellished for dramatic effect, but still believable. Although no one really needs to push their limits to play their parts, I feel the acting is spot on. It would be very easy for Hugh Jackman to have over-acted his character, but he shows restraint. If you are looking for a historically accurate representation of P.T. Barnum's life, well, this isn't it. But don't let that deter you from escaping into a great movie.
