Cradle to Grave is warm, endearing fast paced and funny. Peter Kay's London accent takes a bit of getting used to but as 'Spud' Baker, the wheeler dealing upbeat father of Danny Baker Kay is a hoot. Only being a few years younger than Baker myself I found it nostalgic going back to the seventies and witnessing HIS younger self experiencing similar things that I did. Things like acting the goat with your mates in the classroom, trying to get served in the pub and the usual adolescent attempts to charm members of the opposite sex. By the end of the series young Danny takes his 'charm' to a whole new level though. Luckily for me I didn't experience the funny but embarrassing thing that Danny experiences in the theatre in the first episode. He's sat next to a girl and ends up getting a slap in the face. Nothing new there in sitcom world but the laugh out loud moment is nothing like you could imagine.
