I wasnโt a big fan of Bridgerton when I first watched season 1 shortly after its release. It didnโt really grab my attention, and as a result, I never followed up with seasons 2 or 3. But recently, a YouTube short of Queen Charlotte: a Bridgerton story caught my eye, and I decided to give the franchise another chance.
Iโm so glad I did.
This series was a pleasant surprise. I particularly loved the extended metaphor of the 'wall' in the relationship, a powerful visual and emotional device that stayed with me from their first meeting right through to the seasonโs end. It was symbolic of the emotional and societal barriers between the characters, and the way it was handled was beautifully nuanced.
The production quality, the storytelling, and the acting were all top-notch. Everything came together to create one of the best period pieces Iโve seen in quite some timeโand I've watched most of them. Queen Charlotte exceeded my expectations and renewed my interest in the Bridgerton world.
