Took me a while to want to see this movie. It got ripped apart by reviews and box office. Saw it came out on Peacock and I had a few hours before bedtime...
This movie had tension, dread, and absolutely beautiful landscapes. The characters were believable having the dad being the most fleshed out.
The director went away from the original idea of werewolf/moon idea and went for a more realistic viral idea of the monster. Once bit you're this creature day and night.
The transformation was minimal, another thing people complained about, but I really liked the different changes he went thru. The final phase was creepy as hell, a true level of terror and sadness.
I have seen so many werewolf movies from Bad Moon, Late Phases, Silver Bullet, Dog Soldiers, Werewolf in London, etc etc. But this film is near my top 5.
