Have you seen the one movie where Jesse Eisinberg is so wimpy and weak it's weird and awkward? You know- cringe worthy? Like, painful? Yeah THAT one- THAT's what he does here- AGAIN....only its worse because it loses all believability every step of the way. It would have been interesting if he had been a complex character who is too weak, but he's completely over-the-top wussy and nothing...NOTHING new here. No nuance, no explanation for how someone could have made it through life up to that point with so little common sense or basic survival skills, no explanation for a complete lack of family and friends...nothing. How can such a tired trope sustain such a thin gruel of a film that has utterly nothing else going for it? I've sat through a few experimental film fests without getting up to leave, but the pure vacuousness of this pathetic film drove me out of the theatre before it was halfway through.
