Loved it, one of the best masterpiece series ever and I’ve been watching MP for a very long time. Just superbly done, the writing, the acting, the cinematography, all of it! The story is fictional but the setting is based on the small Irish village where the writer grew up after the war and that had a large US base there until 1946. His mother was a teacher and his father ran a pub but the love story he said was his own creation He also said that he wrote it with Hattie Morahan in mind but unfortunately she became pregnant after the first series concluded in 2015 so seems we will never have another season which is just a pity.
