Something that stood out to me, that I feel are still issues that women seem today, the visit at the doctor's office, male doctor and his questions, the mother(although she had her reasons), the nosy neighbor spying on the wife and the husband as if getting raped was her fault. Women can be rape, shamed and forced to live with it and have no rights over their own body.
