The hatred originates from the question, as to why, serving lepers or building hospitals and schools, or doing any good thing to non-christian society for that matter, always has an underlying agenda to convert. That hidden agenda compromises whatever kindness and goodness that is being demonstrated, as it amounts to selfish service. It cannot be considered a selfless service...and sows the seeds of hatred and distrust among conscious non-christians, not just hindus.
The history of missionaries converting non-christians vigorously and violently, only strengthens the hatred of those hindus, who actually couldve served those lepers and other needy on their own terms preventing/avoiding the need of missionaries.
As for the lepers ,poor and needy, as long as they receive love, care, food and monetary support, religion becomes immaterial, which is logical.
What i wonder is what do the missionaries achieve in converting and branding non-christians. Why cant they preach what they want to, without converting? There is indeed an obvious expectation and soft force in converting those being served.
And obviously almost all of the reviews here are from Evangelists/christians/new converts....
