Brilliantly performed, deeply disturbing and nearly unwatchable. An insightful downer, it’s Schindler’s List without the happy ending.

If cinema is the highest art form (and I believe it is because it’s a collaboration of artistic talent that reaches the most people) E.T. is among the great masterpieces of human history. It’s a miracle of imagination, story, acting, direction and music. It is transcendent.
