The producers had such a great opportunity here. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a FABULOUS book! There are so many iconic moments, phrases and lessons in the book. This series however, just falls flat. So many key moments are not in the series that are in the book. Episode 1 didn’t follow key events to the book and episode 2 is even worse! For example, the Hell Hound. He is the reason Percy gets claimed by his father. The hell hound is the reason why Percy goes to see the oracle and is given a quest. Both of those essential moments are not in the first two episodes. The series of events are crucial for the ending of the book. The reflection of Percy and his Quest, the motives and movements of Luke. I mean there wasn’t even any sword training by Luke for Percy in the episode of Capture the Flag. This series is just a sad under eventful rip off of the book. I think the worst part is I was so excited for this series.
