Dear SmurfDaddy T,
I'm not sure if you'll ever see this review, since Google reviews doesn't allow replies to reviews, but you said "correct me if I'm wrong," so I shall. While the play "Othello" has the main character Othello described as a moorish prince, and therefore would be dark-skinned, there is no evidence to suggest that MacBeth would be. On the contrary, his lineage is shown to be Scottish in one scene, as his ancestors "haunt" him, so to speak. An interesting tidbit about that is that those are actually the Scottish ancestors of King James, whom the play was written for. Since James was very proud of his Scottish heritage, Shakespeare included this scene to keep James excited and interested in the play, as James was notorious for falling asleep during the plays that were performed for him, especially ones as long as "MacBeth."
I haven't seen this adaptation but don't appreciate that certain scenes were cut, so I guess I'll give it a 4/5
