Very realistic. It brought back memories of my 20s with an abusive husband and ending up with 2 children to support. Maybe society can finally understand why women find it hard to leave, although there is a lot more support for victims of domestic violence these days. You can never change the spots on a leopard. Guys like that never change until they get real help. When I left, I went into hiding and never looked back. Then I educated myself, worked hard and life has been so much better.
