OK I am really ticked off! As a School Food Service Professional (retired) Do you know how hard it is for Child Nutrition Programs to stay afloat? With the cost of NOTE (we are stand alone programs and get NO HELP from the Districts we work for! Can you fix a well balanced meal for under $5.00???Can you go to McDonalds or other places get a lunch without PAYING???? It is the PARENTS responsibility to make sure students have money on their accounts. Not the Food Service Professionals! (AKA Lunch Ladies and Men). Are you going to donate to every program that is in trouble because the PARENTS have not paid for students lunches??? Better get that check book out! Here in Idaho some small communities are in huge trouble because of unpaid balances. Maybe you need to do some PARENT shaming to get them to pay their children's bills. Stop Blaming us for the problem On Child Nutrition Programs it is NOT OUR fault!!! I can get more information for you if you want it.
