Being a long time Seth fan I wasn't sure what to expect from The Orville. For sci-fi its joke heavy, which is fine. Look at Galaxy Quest. But as the show found its voice, holy cow! The writers have gone full Game of Thrones as fare as stakes go. Characters making life of death decisions that don't work themselves out in last couple minutes. Seth and company looked at the extremely high bar for illuminating social issues set by Gene Roddenberry and cleared it with the kind of ease that gets your face on Wheaties boxes. The show is funny when it needs to be, but more importantly it compels you to think about the issues that weigh on humanity every day, and manages to do this without being heavy handed. Keep this show on the air.
