This is at first glance you think this is another pirate period piece (if you are not familiar with the show/haven't seen any spoilers). But then you press play and then are transported into a world of good comedy, real love, and pure genius. There is at least one character anyone can relate to inside and out, as I have found myself a few too many times saying "that's something I would do/say/act/feel". As Giant Freaking Robot (.com) said " In a world filled with too many straight rom-coms, Our Flag Mean Death is more than just a show about a queer romance between pirates." It's heartwarming, touching, funny, full of plot twists (or at least things I didn't see coming and neither did Stede), and touches on subjects that should be more commonplace. It's serious when it needs to be and can be dark at times, but this show is a masterfully crafted mix of all the right ingredients that created the masterpiece we call: Our Flag Means Death.

The plot is absolutely on fire. You actually care about the characters, their story arcs and how absolutely badass this Godzilla is. This is how great cinematography is shot, you don't need $200 million budget only to end up with a mixed bag of cats. With a budget of just $15 million this film not only blows you away with it's literal atomic bombing/blasting iconic monster, but it pulls at your heart in a way you didn't think a Godzilla film could actually do.

I like the fact that the Shazam movies are a little more upbeat and less depressing than your average superhero movie, don't get me wrong the rest of the DC films are good, and the Snyder-verse is amazing… I think my favorite part has to be adults pretending to be kids, and Zachary Levi does a great job pretending to be Billy Batson as an adult. There were a few things that were cheesy, a tearjerker scene, and appropriate but not out of bound cliches, like the 6000-year-old Love is Love cliche. It just makes me sad that they're going to reboot the franchise after everything that they had going for them, minus Amber Turd.
