Honest review. I played 3 hours of the trial and it doesn't seem much better than Madden 23. I'm only going to review the gameplay, presentation and graphics. I haven't played superstar mode with mini games or superstar KO. Franchise mode appears to be similar to last year. Madden 24 has more animations and players move more smoothly. The running game is slightly improved due to the better run blocking but juking still isn't as responsive as it should be. You still feel like you are a puppet on a string being pulled into scripted animations. The passing game is better due to the receiver forward momentum after a catch... this is probably my favorite new feature of madden 24. The offense is definitely overpowered in this game at the expense of the defense. It is nearly impossible to get to the quarterback for a sack unless you blitz on defense... the oline blocking is almost too good. I really enjoy playing as a pass rusher on defense so this is definitely disappointing. The back field coverage appears to be slightly better but it is still pretty easy to torch the defense with mid and deep slant passes and go routes. High ball passes are less effective this year as receivers tend to drop these more often. The pre game, halftime and post game presentation still leaves less to be desired. The commentary is beyond stale at this point. 2K commentary and presentation is still light years ahead of madden. The on field in-between plays presentation is better this year... they basically added player altercations. They added more touchdown celebrations and some of them are pretty entertaining. Now lets talk about graphics and player models. The player models somehow look worse this year. They look awkward and cartoonish. I thought madden 23 had pretty good player models so its odd that they decided to change them and its definitely a downgrade. Besides the player models, the graphics are pretty good as a whole. The stadiums and fields look great and I like the indoor and outdoor stadium lighting. Overall, I would not recommend buying this game for $70. While it offers incremental improvements in gameplay, it doesn't offer any new and exciting innovative features that make it stand out from madden 23. It also took a step back in terms of player models which look worse. I would wait to buy until it goes on sale in a few months. Its a not a bad game but also not very good either. Its the definition of mediocre. Oh and the music is god awful in this game. I don't understand why they can't include more variety or different genres of music.
